Today Salt Lake City launches a new partnership with Healthy Babies Bright Futures (HBBF) to become one of the organization’s first cohort of Bright Cities. The Bright Cities program is designed specifically to help reduce or eliminate neurotoxic chemical exposures in children when they are most vulnerable.

City and Community Garden Group to Host Open House on New Garden Parcels
SALT LAKE CITY – The City’s Division of Sustainability, in partnership with Wasatch Community Gardens, will host a community garden open house on Wednesday Nov. 13 from 6-8 p.m. on the first floor of the Salt Lake City & County Building, 451 S. State Street.
City Announces Free Electronic Waste Recycling Events
SALT LAKE CITY – Salt Lake City Green announces a series of Saturday electronic waste (e-waste) recycling events that will be held each month, from May through August. The events are sponsored by Samsung and will accept a wide variety of electronics from city and county residents. Business waste will not be accepted.
SALT LAKE CITY – Mayor Ralph Becker, Councilman Stan Penfold and the City’s Division of Sustainability and Environment will launch the 2013 SmartTrips program for the Fairpark neighborhood at a media event on Friday, April 12 at 11 a.m. at Utah State Fairpark, 155 N. 1000 West near the south entrance.
