Welcome to the Sorenson Multi-Cultural Center
Located in Salt Lake City's
Glendale area (855 West California Avenue / 1300 South), the
Sorenson Center offers many recreational and educational
opportunities for young people.
Youth programs
After-School and Summer
Open to children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Activities
include swimming, arts and crafts, cooking, computer clubhouse,
field trips, social skills and community service.
Cost : Dependent on family size and income.

Sports classes
The following sports classes are
offered year round

Boxing - adult and youth: M-F 12-6pm

Taekwondo youth classes: Tues and Thurs Beginner 6pm,
Intermediate 7pm, Advanced 8pm.

Tennis: Fridays at Coach Mikes Tennis, 3pm to 4pm.
Transportation is provided from the Sorenson Center to Coach
Mike’s.

Computer Clubhouse
A learning environment where young people ages 8 to 17 explore
their own interests through the use of technology. Created in
partnership with Intel Corporation and the Boston Museum of

Kid's Cafe
Provides dinner to youth from Glendale and the Sorenson
Multi-Cultural Center program participants. Every weekday at 5
pm. (4 pm in July and August)

Volunteer Program
The Sorenson Multi-cultural Center has many rewarding and
diverse volunteer opportunities available for you to make a
difference. Volunteers are an important component to the
programs we offer to the community.
If you are interested in
participating as a volunteer at our center you must complete a
confidential application. All volunteers are required to pass a
background check.

Special Events
We are seeking volunteers for the Halloween 2009 bash and
December 2009 Holiday party. Volunteers are needed to help set
up and clean up as well as to help run games and activities.

IHC Neighborhood Clinic
The IHC Neighborhood Clinic provides health care to children and
adults. Services include: treatment for minor illnesses and
injuries; immunizations; and treatment for diabetes and asthma.
Cost : Fees are charged on a sliding scale; also accept CHIP,
Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance.

Steiner West Swimming Pool
Offers lap swimming, open plunge, diving, water aerobics for
adults and senior citizens, swimming lessons, Water Safety
Instruction (WSI), Lifeguard Training (LGT), and other water
activities.
Cost : 3 years and under: Free; 4-12 years: $1.00, Adult: $2.00
