City To Host Symposium on Parks, Public Lands
Opportunity for residents to comment, help shape future of outdoor spaces
 
SALT LAKE CITY – The Parks & Public Lands Division of Salt Lake City will host a symposium for community members to learn more about current and on-going projects in the City’s Parks, Natural Lands, Urban Forestry and City Cemetery Programs. On Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the City & County Building, City staff will present information and answer questions about the following projects:
 
Bike Terrain Parks             Riparian Restoration         Community Gardens
Pavilion Reservations            Ball Field Reservations       Off Leash Dogs    
Wasatch Hollow Restoration                          Westpointe Park Pavilion     Frisbee Golf
600 East Median Project          Ron Heaps Memorial Park     Modelport       
Integrated Pest Management Plan               Imperial Park Project     
 
Residents are encouraged to attend one of two information sessions focused on efforts to improve and enhance outdoor public space citywide, and then take advantage of the full slate of activities and  1960s-themed fun during the Celebrate the City event at Library Square (and  free admission to The Leonardo) right across  the street from the Salt Lake City & County Building.
 
This public outreach offers community members an opportunity to provide input on project visions and details and help shape the future of our City’s unique outdoor spaces.
