Welcome to Salt Lake City Building Services

Here is what we do:

  • Building Code Review - review plans to ensure they conform to the International Code Council requirements.
  • Zoning Review - review plans to ensure they conform to the zoning ordinance.
  • Inspections - oversee ongoing projects in the city, inspect business license applications and perform fire and life-safety inspections on buildings damaged by fire or accidents.
  • Civil Enforcement - enforcement of zoning code and housing violations. 
  • Board of Appeals - Volunteers Needed

OpenCounter

The zoning portal will allow you to explore where different business types are permitted throughout the City. The business permitting portal will help you understand the specific license, permits, and zoning requirements for starting a business in Salt Lake City.

 

Electronic Plan Review

To save time and resources, we use ProjectDox electronic plan review software. All new commercial and residential buildings (excluding additions, remodels, tenant finishes) submitted for review and permit must be submitted through this software. Please visit: https://aca.slcgov.com/citizen/ for additional information on the process.
