Announcements
Visitors to the Art Barn have noticed recent construction activity
in Reservoir Park. The Department of Public Utilities is filling
in the no-longer-in-use reservoir and will finish the resulting
green space with such amenities as trees and benches. The historic
wall along 1300 East will be also be restored. For more details on

Art in Transit, the public art program for the Utah Transit
Authority (UTA) and partnering organizations, announces an
opportunity for public art commissions on the North Temple TRAX line
that will connect Salt Lake City to the Salt Lake City International
Airport.
Art in Transit will award five commissions, one at each of the light
rail stations to be built along North Temple, the street that
connects downtown to the Airport. The commission for public art at
the Airport station will be issued in mid January 2010. Art in
Transit is managed by the Salt Lake City Arts Council in partnership
with UTA.
