What the state is responsible for

The Division of State Archives is responsible for records management, records storage, archive training, microfilming records, GRAMA requests and forms distribution. The State Archives serves mainly other government agencies, such as counties and cities.

The Utah Vital Records division is responsible for certificates (birth, death) and statistics. This division serves mainly citizens.
