Aerial photography is available for most of Salt Lake City. The aerials are digital orthophotographs and can be used with GIS, CAD, and other software applications. Each aerial photo covers approximately one quarter-section (.5 mi x .5 mi). All aerial photography is in JPEG format and is available for 1999 and 2003. The 1999 aerial photography is black and white with a six inch resolution while the 2003 aerial photography is color with a 1 foot resolution.

Downloading
Aerial photographs may be downloaded via interactive index maps. The aerial photography index maps allow you to download aerials by clicking on the map.

Instructions for Downloading by Index Map
1. Pan and Zoom to the area you want to download. You must zoom in until the names of the available aerials become visible in order to download an aerial.

2. Click the hotlink tool .
3. Click on the map display to download the aerial you want.

Note: If you are using a popup blocker in your web browser, hold down the control key (Ctrl) while using the hotlink tool or set your popup blocker to allow popups for the following site:  slcimap2.ci.slc.ut.us
If you have Google, Yahoo, or other toolbars installed in your browser it is possible for these toolbars to block popups in addition to the browser's default popup blocker.
