Inspections

All vehicle inspections take place the day of the sale.  The preview begins at 11:30AM. No one is allowed inside any of the vehicles during the inspection. Any questions please ask an auction employee.

You can register between 8:00 AM and 12:15 PM the day of the auction.

You must be physically present. In order to register to bid you must be at least 16 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.

Enter the impound lot office on the north side and proceed inside. Visitor passes will no longer be issued as of December 2, 2005. Everyone entering the auction lot must have their own bid number. Parking is located east of the auction lot.

Purchasing a vehicle

All purchases are final.  Vehicles are sold as is.  No refunds will be given.

You do not need previous bidding experience to bid on a vehicle at this auction. The auctioneer will give instruction before the bidding begins.  If you are still unsure about how the bidding works, watch other people make bids on the first vehicle before you try it out.

Payment is due by 2:00 PM the day of the auction. All purchases must be paid in cash or by Visa unless you are bonded dealer and pay with a company check.  If you bid on a vehicle and do not pay for it by 2:00 PM, you will be prohibited from all future Salt Lake City Corporation auctions

Taking a registered vehicle home

Vehicles must be removed from the impound lot by 5:00 PM the day of the sale.  Any vehicles or property left inside the lot will be charged $15.00 per day storage fee.  We strongly suggest that before you remove the vehicle that you have proof of insurance and a permit from the Department of Motor Vehicles. If you do not have insurance on the vehicle you should have the vehicle commercially towed or towed with a tow bar off the lot.

All property inside of the vehicle belongs to the buyer. We will not provide tools, batteries, jumper cables, air, gasoline, towing lines or other tools you may need to remove the vehicle from the lot. There is no mechanical work allowed on the lot.
