Night Out Against Crime

The National Night Out Against Crime will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2006. The Salt Lake City Police Department is sponsoring two events in the City that evening. One event will be held at the Pioneer Precinct, 1040 West 700 South, and the other will be held at Liberty Park Northeast Pavilion, 600 East 1000 South.

The purpose is to heighten crime awareness, encourage drug prevention and neighborhood spirit and build partnerships within the community and strengthen participation in anti-crime programs. This sends an important message to criminals that neighborhoods are getting organized and united against crime.

There will be a parade that begins at 5:00 p.m. at 1179 South Navajo Street and end at the Pioneer Precinct. This parade is an annual event and is lots of fun.

There will be food, drink and entertainment at both locations from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. We would like to invite everyone to attend the event closest to them and join us in the fun.
