Arrest Two – Gun-Sale Plot Foiled
On Monday, February 25, Salt Lake City Police detectives acted on
information that two individuals were illegally possessing and
intended to sell numerous firearms.
Detectives pooled their resources, and drew upon expertise from the
Burglary Squad, City Gang Squad, and the Fusion Division.
Detectives conducted an exhaustive investigation, ultimately resulting
in the arrest of two people.
Arrested were: 22-year-old Boyd Oman and 53-year-old Kerry McNeely,
both of Salt Lake City. Oman and McNeely were booked into jail on
multiple felony counts of being a restricted person in possession of a
firearm. Officers recovered a total of nine firearms, including:
rifles, shotguns and handguns.
Through the combined efforts and proactive work of many officers, guns
were potentially kept out of the hands of dangerous criminals. The
Salt Lake City Police Department strives to work with the community to

city.
