Offering Free Gun Locks
The Salt Lake City Police Department
is offering free gun locks to residents of the City.
The locks will be distributed at Salt Lake City Community Council

The Police Department received a grant that funded the purchase of
several thousand gun locks. It is our hope that people will use these
locks to help prevent gun-related accidents in their homes, and to
reduce the chance of unauthorized use of an individual’s
firearm.
Too often, firearm related accidents occur when unauthorized persons
pick up an unlocked, unattended firearm. The use of this locking
device prevents the firearm from being loaded and/or fired by anyone
other than the person with the key to the locking device.
