Adopt-A-Spot Program and Other Stewardship Opportunities

The Open Space Lands Program has created an Adopt-A-Spot Program to allow Salt Lake citizens to show pride in the vibrant ecology of their city by stewarding a set location over the course of one year. Adoption groups are made up of two or more individuals who commit to visit a select area of their choice to perform basic stewardship service to keep open space lands healthy and safe.

Such service* includes:                       Watch Training Videos Here:
  • Site Clean-Up
  • Invasive Weed Control
  • Tree Protection
  • Trail Upkeep and Monitoring
  • Program Advocacy and Education
  • Photo Documentation
  • Monitoring and Tracking
  • Reporting of Safety Hazards and Other Issues

*Please note that activities may be restricted in some locations over others and that some activities will vary by season.

Our volunteers include anyone interested in preserving and maintaining our lovely city’s open spaces. We encourage participation from local businesses, youth organizations, church groups, senior citizens, scouts groups, neighborhood and community groups, and more. Adopters help guarantee the quality, integrity, and longevity of open space lands now and into the future.
