The Bureau of Economic and Business Research (BEBR) is located in the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. BEBR provides research services to business and government, specializing in the Utah economy and the Rocky Mountain region. The BEBR issues several series of publications: 1) the Statistical Abstract of Utah; 2) the quarterly Utah Construction Report; 3) the bimonthly Utah Economic and Business Review; and 4) Utah’s High Technology Directory. The BEBR maintains a comprehensive information depository and collects and compiles a variety of data at the state, regional, county, and city level.

The Demographic and Economic Analysis (DEA) section provides economic and demographic data and analysis for the governor's office, state and local governments, state agencies, businesses, and the public. The DEA is also the lead agency in Utah for the Census Bureau’s State Data Center and Business and Industry Data Center programs. The DEA issues the annual Economic Report to the Governor and the quarterly newsletter, Utah Data Guide: A Newsletter for Data Users.

The Utah Foundation is a private, non-profit public service agency established to study state and local government in Utah, including the relationship between taxes and public expenditures in the Utah economy. The Foundation issues three series of documents: 1) a monthly Research Report, which focuses on a single topic in detail; 2) Research Briefs (10 to 20 annually which summarize, often with illustrative graphics, one subject); and 3) Statistical Review of Government in Utah, an annual report to the public detailing taxes and the cost of government in relation to the Utah economy.
