These PDF files
list information from the Census 2000 Summary File 3 (SF3) that contains
data on social, economic, and housing characteristics compiled from a
sample of approximately 24,400 housing units (about 1 in 7 households)
that received the Census 2000 long-form questionnaire.
Each file represents data collected from a census tract.
A census tract is a federally designated statistical area that
generally has 4 to 5 thousand people living there.
The list below
shows the 59 census tracts within Salt Lake City and gives the
approximate boundaries, so you can determine which tract you want
information from.
Each census tract
file is 58 pages long and is divided into profiles, which are sections
focusing on specific areas of interest: Primary Profile (11 pages);
Secondary Profile (4 pages); Ancestry Profile (3 pages); Disability
Profile (6 pages); Education Profile (2 pages); Employment Profile (3
pages); Household and Family Profile (1 page); Income Profiles (8
pages); Language Profile (3 pages); Migration Profile (3 pages); Poverty
Profile (8 pages); Transportation Profile (2 pages); and Housing Profile
(4 pages).
