Neighborhood Building Improvement Program

The Neighborhood Building Improvement Program (NBIP) is one of the resources offered by Salt Lake City’s Division of Housing and Neighborhood Development to support and strengthen the city’s neighborhoods.
The program is intended to revitalize neighborhood commercial areas, enhance the livability of adjacent communities, and support local businesses.
Funding allocated during the 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan period is directed towards the Poplar Grove and Central City/Central Ninth target areas to stimulate revitalization efforts and private sector investments.
Applicants may receive up to $25,000 in grant awards to improve the facade of their business. Improvements may include doors, windows, paint, stucco, garages, lighting, fascia, and soffit among others. Currently, we are not accepting applications. The application process will start again in the Summer of 2018.
