Where do I get my Fire Extinguisher filled or checked?
  There are many private businesses in that provide this service; they are listed in the Yellow Pages under "Fire Extinguishers."
   
Where or how do I get my home inspected for Child Care?
  Contact your local Fire Department’s Fire Prevention Division listed in the phone book under City Government, in Salt Lake City the telephone number is 799-4150.
   
Where do I dispose of paint, thinners, or hazardous waste materials?
  The Salt Lake County Landfill has a disposal site or you can call their Hotline at 534-4588.
   
When I see or hear a Fire Engine with the Lights and Sirens turned on, what should I do?
  The driver of the Fire Engine is trained to pass vehicles on the left and to maneuver in traffic. You should pull as close to the Right side of the road as possible. If this is not possible due to traffic slowly stop and turn on your flashers, the Firefighter will drive around your car on the left.
   
How do I become a Firefighter?
  In Salt Lake City the requirements to become a Firefighter are as follows:
  US Citizenship, Minimum of 18 years of age, High School Diploma or GED, Valid Drivers License,
  In the hiring process, the applicant can acquire additional points by holding the following experiences or certifications:
  Military Veteran, Certified Paramedic, EMT Certification.
