On April 30, 2009, Girl Scout Troop 524 conducts the flag
ceremony to open up the Council District One Town Meeting held
at the Northwest Recreation Center.

On November
17, 2008, Salt Lake City hosted a luncheon in honor of the
delegation of Ukrainian judges who are participating in an Open
World Rule of Law Program. Council Member Members Carlton
Christensen, Eric Jergensen & JT Martin welcomed the delegation
to Salt Lake City.
Ukraine is hosting the 2012 Euro Cup Soccer Championships.
Ukrainian representatives visited Salt Lake City to gather information
from the City regarding their experience in hosting and
preparing for a similar event, the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.
Council Member Christensen was pleased to participate in their
visit.
Council Members Christensen and Martin
participated in the recent Sister City event with the new
Director General of the Taiwan Consulate in San Francisco; Thomas Chen and his assistant Hai-Lei Hsu.
Salt Lake City is a Sister City with Keelung City, Taiwan and
will celebrate the 30th year in 2009.
Council Member Christensen being interviewed by
TopSpin Creative Corp, a Japanese television production company in
New York City. They are working with NHK, largest public network in
Japan to produce a documentary program to be aired in Japan relating
to Christmas related stories.
On June 13, 2007,
Council Member Christensen making a speech at the demolition
community celebration at 738 North Colorado Street. The house
had been seized by the DEA and would be torn down to make way
for a new home.
