Salt Lake City Council Challenge to the Provo City Council re: U of U vs BYU football game
On November 18, 2008, the Salt Lake City Council announced
a challenge to the Provo City Council regarding the
University of
Utah Utes vs the BYU Cougars football game held Saturday, November 22,
2008 at the Rice Eccles stadium. The challenge: if the Utes
win, Provo City Council sings the U of U fight song to the Salt
Lake City Council or if the Cougars win, then the Salt Lake City Council
sings the BYU fight song to the Provo City Council.

As a result of the Utes' defeat of 48-24 which won them the Mountain
West Conference championship, the Provo City Council sang the BYU
Cougars fight song to the City Council on January 13, 2009.
