Community Invited to Homeless Services Site Evaluation Commission Open House

Salt Lake City invites residents to join the City's Homeless Services Site Evaluation Commission for an Open House on Thursday, November 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. on the third floor of the Salt City & County Building, 451 S. State Street.

Salt Lake City is seeking the public’s input on three potential site scenarios to provide emergency homeless services in the future: an all inclusive campus, scattered facilities or scattered shelters with centralized facilities.

Over the past few weeks, the Site Evaluation Commissioners have evaluated potential scenarios based on the findings of Salt Lake County’s Collective Impact on Homelessness Steering Committee.

Community members can learn how the past work of the Commission has led to the development of the scenarios and how the scenarios relate to the shared outcomes adopted by the County’s Committee.

City, County and Commission officials will also be on hand to answer questions on the scenarios, the shared outcomes and the work of the two groups.

Interested parties who are unable to attend can still provide comment on the potential site scenarios by accessing Open City Hall, the City’s online civic engagement tool at: http://www.slcgov.com/opencityhall.
