Dedi had been a patron of the Computer Center since 2004, when he moved to the U.S. He joined the computer center staff  in October 2007. 

He has worked extensively with refugee communities for five years in Egypt, Africa. He is interested in movie editing and community development.                                                                                  Dedi speaks Arabic, English,  French, and Kakwa (a language from Southern Sudan) .
