Privacy Policy

The Intel Computer Clubhouse, located at the Sorenson Multi-Cultural Center, provides a creative and safe after-school learning environment for young people ages 8-18. In the Computer Clubhouse, young people work with adult mentors and other members to explore their interests, develop skills and build self-confidence. In the Clubhouse, young people can design their own music, art, videos, animations, robots, and science simulations. Under the supervision of Clubhouse staff, members have access to the Internet and may occasionally post their own original work on the Internet.

  The Computer Clubhouse may use member information to create a list of participants in the program and how often they participate, and to allow participants to share materials they create. The Computer Clubhouse will not transfer or sell this information to any third party. The Computer Clubhouse will provide reasonable security for this information and will allow parents or guardians the opportunity to review this information by contacting the Computer Clubhouse Coordinator, Carole Costa at (801) 974-2420.

Members of the Clubhouse will be able to create material that may be posted to a Computer Clubhouse Intranet website called: “the Computer Clubhouse Village”. These materials may contain personal information such as first name and photographs and e-mail address. The “Village” website is password protected, meaning only Computer Clubhouse members and staff have passwords and can look at the site. Under the supervision of the Clubhouse staff, members may also be invited to post material (web sites, art work etc.) on the Sorenson Computer Clubhouse web site. When this situation occurs, Computer Clubhouse staff will review members’ websites and artwork to make sure they do not include any of the personal information listed above is not used in combination. The staff strongly discourages young people from posting any other personal material on the Internet.

  Parents or guardians are strongly encouraged to be aware of their children’s’ activities on the Internet, wherever they may be.
