City Requesting Proposals for Neighborhood Business District Grant
Program helps locally owned businesses provide a sense of place for residents

SALT LAKE CITY – Salt Lake City’s Economic Development Division is requesting proposals for the 2012 Neighborhood Business District Grant Program. Successful neighborhood business districts provide identity, vitality and a sense of place for residents. Small locally owned businesses provide economic stability and visual anchors for communities.

As part of Salt Lake City’s efforts to promote and strengthen these areas, $10,000 has been allocated to be used to match funds raised by selected Salt Lake City Neighborhood Business Districts each year.  Grant dollars available for each project will not exceed $2,000 and will depend on the number and strength of eligible proposals submitted.

Funds must be used for promotional events, marketing and branding initiatives and/or beautification projects.  The grant cycle is open while funds are available, however applications will not be reviewed until after June 15, 2012.
