CDBG, HOME, ADDI, HOPWA and ESG
Salt
Lake City Housing and Neighborhood Development Division (HAND) is providing
application materials to nonprofit agencies, community organizations,
faith-based organizations, City and other government agencies for the
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships,
American Dream Downpayment Initiative (ADDI), Housing Opportunities for
Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) and Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) federal grant
programs. The City will use these funds to accomplish its community development and housing goals under
the 2005-2010 Consolidated Plan.
City
residents have benefited from these programs through street and
sidewalk improvements, low-interest housing rehab loans, home
ownership down payment assistance, rental assistance, emergency home
repairs, development of parks, neighborhood plans, affordable and
transitional housing projects, and homeless shelter projects.
Local nonprofit agencies have also received help for
rehabilitation of their facilities and for public service programs.
These are
competitive grants and the City Council will ultimately decide which
applications are funded, and at what funding level. These funds will
be available beginning July 2009, subject to HUD approval of the Salt
Lake City 2009 Action Plan. Application
forms must be submitted for all five programs. Please read all
application materials as they explain the requirements of each grant.
