TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY BOARD

The Transportation Advisory Board (TAB) was created by City Council ordinance in 1997 to provide recommendations to the Transportation Division, the Mayor, and City Council regarding transportation matters affecting Salt Lake City. Transportation Advisory Board members are selected by the Mayor subject to the consent of the City Council and serve three year terms. TAB members are citizens representing geographic areas of Salt Lake City as well as representatives of various agencies significantly involved in or affected by transportation issues and decisions. TAB deliberates upon and provides recommendations regarding local and regional transportation issues; development and implementation of the City’s Traffic Calming Program; crossing guard policies and crossing guard placement; alternative transportation and travel demand strategies; promotion of public education of transportation issues; prioritization of funding for transportation related capital improvement projects; and serves as a coordinating body and resource for organizations interested in transportation issues affecting Salt Lake City.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Transportation Advisory Board provides informed citizen and community guidance, direction, and recommendations to the Mayor, City Council, and the Transportation Division regarding transportation issues. The Transportation Advisory Board serves as a coordinating body and resource for organizations interested in transportation issues affecting Salt Lake City.

MEETINGS

The Transportation Advisory Board meets the first Monday of every month at 4:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Transportation Office, located at 349 South 200 East, Suite 450, Salt Lake City.
