Leaf removal program

You can do your part in keeping our City streets, sidewalks and drainage system clean by bagging your leaves. 

Leaf Bag Pickup Dates for 2009

Leaf bags and flyer will be distributed to Salt Lake City residents during the last two weeks of October. The leaf bag pickup program will run between November and December. Please refer to the map below for your area's pickup dates.

*Place leaf bags on park strip before 7:00 a.m. on the first day of scheduled pickup dates.

*If you miss the third pickup, please compost, take to landfill, or place leaves in your garbage can.

Placement Instructions

Place bags on the park strip in an open accessible area.

The location must be away from trees, fire hydrants, or other fixed objects.

Do not place household garbage in leaf bags.

No Dumping in Parks

Bagged leaves will only be collected curbside. Do not take leaves to any park.

Leaves are Recycled

Bagged leaves collected through this program are composted at the Salt Lake Valley Landfill. For more information about purchasing compost, call Recycling Information hotline at 801-974-6902.

Additional Bags

Leaves placed in store purchase lawn bags will also be collected. A limited supply of bags will be available during November at the following City locations:

Streets/Sanitation Division
850 South 300 West 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

City and County Building
451 South State Street, 2nd Floor Security Desk 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Public Utilities (Water Department)
1530 South West Temple Street 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Forest Dale Golf Course
2350 S. 900 E. Administrative Office 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
