There are many volunteer opportunities.
One opportunity is the Neighborhood Tree
Ambassador Program The ambassador is a volunteer from
a Salt Lake City neighborhood who shares information, concerns,
and suggestions for protection, care, and renewal of city street
trees with their neighbors and the city’s Forestry Program staff.
Citizens who desire more information may contact the Forestry office

Volunteers who prefer a more hands-on
experience will find a wonderful opportunity in TreeUtah.
TreeUtah is a statewide non-profit organization committed to renewing
and sustaining the benefits of urban and rural forests. TreeUtah
volunteers have planted trees from St. George to Bear Lake. For

Cool Communities,
affiliated with the Environmental Protection Agency and American
Forest Association, is involved in supporting, planning and coordinating
tree planting for energy conservation. The program is administered
locally by the Utah Office of Energy Services. Citizens interested
in helping this great effort may call (801) 538-8690.
Red Butte
Garden & Arboretum, adjacent to the University of Utah,
offer many outstanding opportunities for volunteers interested in
the unique landscape of the intermountain west. To inquire about
the Arboretums resources, programs and volunteer activities interested
