Mission

The mission of the Human Rights Commission is to work so that every person can share in the full benefits and responsibilities of living in Salt Lake City and create a community where every person is valued and treated with dignity and respect.

Our sustaining vision includes:

• A community free from discrimination and prejudice
• A community actively celebrating the diversity of our many histories and the richness of our individual and shared heritages
• A community actively educating one another on human rights
• A community opposing bias and discrimination in all its forms (institutional, systemic, etc.)
• A community that openly addresses human rights issues and seeks resolutions
