SALT LAKE CITY IS A CITY ON THE RISE! A snapshot of Utah’s capital city reveals an ideal downtown with a unique mix of activities for living, working, shopping, learning and playing.

A stunning natural setting, first-rate transportation infrastructure, stellar institutions of higher learning, and a long-standing commitment to arts and culture. Salt Lake City a central place from corporate headquarters to small, locally-owned shops and businesses.

During the next five years, unprecedented development will occur in downtown Salt Lake City as the skyline and street line will change with new housing units, class A office towers, premier retail space, and expanded TRAX light rail and FrontRunner commuter rails.The City Creek project is a $1.5 billion investment that will encompass over 20 acres of retail, commercial office space and housing in the heart of downtown. When completed in 2011, City Creek will be the premier shopping and recreational center in the Intermountain West.

Downtown Rising – a movement to enhance Utah’s capital city through planned investment and regional leadership. Downtown Rising includes eight signature projects: an expanded rail network, a green loop of trails, walkways and paths around downtown, new housing, a World Trade Center Utah, a new performing arts center, a public market, and the region’s flagship sports and fitness center.
