Does your home
need a new roof? How about new paint, or wheelchair access? If you
are a Salt Lake City resident you may qualify to receive some of
these services free of charge!
Salt Lake City’s
Housing & Neighborhood Development Department has partnered with the
World Changers organization to provide SLC residents free home
repairs. Over the past two years this partnership brought nearly
550 youth volunteers from around the country to Salt Lake City as
part of a special neighborhood restoration event. Together, we have
provided 56 homes free housing repairs. These homes received new
roofs, new siding, new windows, wheelchair accessible ramps, and
more.
Don’t miss your
opportunity to apply for World Changers 2009. This program is
available to homeowners in Salt Lake City with low incomes, the
elderly, and disabled. The homeowner does not have to pay for
services and materials received, however they must be aware that
work is completed by volunteers – mostly teenage youth. Possible
repairs or additions include wheelchair ramps, repair or replacement
of roofs, vinyl siding replacement or painting, window repairs, deck
or patio repairs, fences, yard and landscape clean-up, and other
projects as approved.
