The Historic Landmark
Commission (HLC) reviews all
applications for landmark sites, demolition
and new construction within
locally-designated historic districts.
They do not review
interior work or exterior paint
color, only exterior
alterations. The majority
of the projects presented
to the HLC are either
approved as submitted or
with modifications.

Relocation
|
Although the Historic Landmark Commission prefers that historic buildings are kept in their original location, members recognize that in some instances relocating a building may be a viable means to preserve it.
Owing to the complexities of moving a structure, the HLC reviews few of these
cases.
