Salt Lake City Ordinance No. 25 of 2004
Fact Sheet
The purpose of this ordinance is
to encourage public activities by artists in all disciplines, in
balance with public safety and other municipal concerns.
It is recommended that artists
interested in this type of activity read the ordinance. Details as to allowable locations,
exhibit dimensions, and hours of operation are spelled out in the
ordinance.
Artists who present their work
for sale or compensation must register by completing an application
and paying a $30 registration fee through the office of Property
Management.
Specific geographic areas in the
City have been designated for these activities, including sites in a
number of City parks and in two commercially-zoned districts (Sugar
House and downtown Salt Lake City). Maps of these designated areas
