School Day Program
The Living Traditions School Day Program takes place on Friday morning before the festival opens to the public, and provides the opportunity for local elementary students from several school districts to engage in authentic cultural traditions on-site at the Festival. Students learn to respect and appreciate the diversity, history, and heritage of their community through these activities. Between two and three thousand elementary students from several school districts participate in this program, coordinated by the Educational Equity Unit of the Utah State Office of Education.
Scheduled on Friday morning, the School Day Program provides teacher workbooks for the teachers to use in preparing the students, active participation by the students on-site, and follow-up activities in the classroom.
